((Echoes of the Land))

ECHOES OF THE LAND introduces the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, conducted by KuanFen Liu, in works by composers Ashley Hoyer and Bevan Manson, each exploring the character and history of distinct landscapes. From the Santa Monica Mountains, with their rare ecosystems and deep cultural roots, to the diverse environments of the Channel Islands and their centuries of human and natural stories, the album traces a musical voyage shaped by place. It closes in Odesa, where transplanted American trees became integral to the city’s identity. Together, these works illuminate the enduring connections between land, legacy, and the environments we inhabit.
